The General Voicemail Box requires that you initialize the voicemail box for the first time. To access, you will need the number of your General Voicemail Box and default passcode. After selecting a new passcode and recording a name for your General Voicemail Box, the Voicemail Box is initialized. These steps will need to be completed before you can record the” Busy” and “No answer” condition greetings.
Please follow the instructions below.
1. Dial the telephone number of your company’s Voice Portal Number (Backdoor number) ______________________
2. Enter the extension of the General Voicemail box (Mailbox ID) _______
3. When prompted enter the default passcode___________
4. Enter a new passcode, must be at least 4-6 digits.
5. Re-enter the passcode _______________
6. Record a name only greeting. Sample “ABC Company Voicemail Box”
Or, if you are not assigned a voice portal number, following the steps below:
1. Call the General Voicemail box number_____________ soon as you hear the default greeting play, Press the * key.
2. Enter the default passcode___________________
3. Enter a new passcode when prompted, must be at least 4-6 digits.
4. Re-enter the passcode_________________
5. Record a name only greeting. Sample “XYZ company voicemail box”
The voicemail box is initialized and you are now in the Voice Portal Main Menu. This menu allows you to listen to and delete new messages, as well as record your “Busy and No Answer” responses to incoming calls for the extension. You should record both a “Busy” and “No Answer” greeting for the Voicemail box. You can record whatever greeting you desire and you can change this at any time.
1. After the main login steps above, press 1 to go the Voice Messaging Main Menu.
2. Press 2 and follow the prompts to record and approve the “Busy” Greeting.
3. Press 3 and follow the prompts to record and approve the “No Answer” Greeting.
“Hello, you have reached the General Voicemail box for ABC Company, please leave your name, number and a brief message and it will be our pleasure to call you back promptly.”
